Structural Installation Types, Protection Levels, and Cooling Methods of Xi'an Simo Z Series DC Motors

1. The installation types of the Z series motors comply with GB/T997 and IEC34-7 "Codes for the Types of Construction and Mounting of Electric Machines".
2. According to the standards of GB/T4942 and IEC34-5 "Degree of Protection Provided by the Enclosures of Electric Machines", the protection levels of the enclosures of the Z series motors are of two types: IP23 and IP44.
3. According to the standards of GB/T1993 and IEC34-6 "Methods of Cooling of Electric Machines", there are the following four cooling methods for the Z series motors. If users require other protection levels and cooling methods, they can be negotiated separately. The standard cooling air inlet of this series of motors is at the drive end (non-commutator end) of the motor.
   3.1 IC06: External ventilation with a built-in blower; (Protection level is IP23)
   3.2 IC17: The cooling air inlet is a pipeline, and the outlet is a louver for exhaust; (Protection level is IP23)
   3.3 IC37: Both the cooling air inlet and outlet are pipelines; (Protection level is IP44)
   3.4 ICW37A86: Fully enclosed with an air/water cooler. (Protection level is IP44)
4. The required cooling air volume, air pressure, and the power of the fan motor for each frame number are shown in Table 1.
5. The position of the terminal box of the Xi'an Simo motor is on the right side of the frame when viewed from the drive end (non-shaft extension end) (i.e., the normal box position). If the user requires the terminal box to be on the other side, the "reverse box" should be indicated.

Operating Conditions of Xi'an Simo Z Series DC Motors

1. The rated power of the motor refers to the condition where the altitude does not exceed 1000 meters and the ambient air temperature does not exceed 40°C.
2. Both the armature circuit and the excitation circuit of this series of motors can be adapted to the power supply of a controllable power source, and they are also suitable for the power supply of a DC generator set.
3. The working environment of this series of motors should not contain acidic, alkaline, or other gases that are corrosive to the insulation.
4. The motors can be installed in relatively harsh environmental conditions, but the correct cooling method and protection level must be selected to ensure the normal operation of the motors.
5. If the motors are used on ships, in wet tropical regions, or in working environments with salt spray, humidity, etc., separate agreements should be made.
6. When the motors are powered by a static rectifier power source, the number of pulsating waves of the rectifier is not less than 6. Under the rated base speed, rated voltage, and rated load current, the peak ripple factor of the power source does not exceed 10%.

Product Performance of Xi'an Simo Z Series DC Motors

1. The basic working mode of this series of Xi'an Simo motors is continuous load. If other working modes are required, separate agreements should be made.
2. The standard rated voltages of this series of Simo motors are six types: 220V, 330V, 440V, 550V, 660V, and 750V. Other voltage levels can also be derived, which need to be agreed upon when placing an order.
3. The basic mode of this series of Simo motors is separately excited, and the basic excitation voltage is 220V. Other excitation voltages can also be derived. This series of motors allows forced excitation, and the forced excitation voltage does not exceed 500V. During forced excitation, the excitation current can slightly exceed the rated excitation current instantaneously, but after the excitation current stabilizes, it must not exceed the rated excitation current value.
4. The short-time overload capacity of this series of motors:
   • The first type of motors (Type A) can withstand the short-time (one minute) overload specified in Table 2.
   • The second type of motors (Type B) can withstand the short-time (one minute) overload specified in Table 3.
   • The occasionally used short-time overload capacity refers to the ability of the motor to withstand a load exceeding the continuous rated load within one minute in rare or emergency situations. It is recommended to set the instantaneous opening device of the circuit breaker according to the occasionally used short-time overload capacity.
   • The frequently used short-time overload capacity refers to the ability of the motor to repeatedly withstand a load exceeding the rated load as part of the normal working cycle. After short-time overload operation, the motor must operate under a light load so that the root mean square value of the load in the entire load cycle of the motor does not exceed its continuous rating.
   • The second type of motors (Type B) should be able to withstand the following continuous loads:
     • Continuously operate with a load of 115% of the rated power within the rated armature voltage and rated speed range. Under this load, the temperature rise will be higher, and other characteristics may be different from the regulations when operating under rated conditions.
     • Within the rated armature voltage and rated speed range, after continuously operating at the rated load, immediately operate with a load of 125% of the rated power for two hours, and the temperature rise does not exceed the specified value, and other characteristics may be different from the regulations when operating under rated conditions.
     • The motor is allowed a longer overload time at a lower overload multiple. For the second type of DC motors (Type B), when used occasionally, the overload multiple is allowed to reach 2.5 times (at the rated base speed), and the time does not exceed 15 seconds (but it needs to be negotiated with the manufacturer).
5. Speed regulation rate:
   • The speed regulation rate of this series of motors is not specified. If users have special requirements, they should be agreed upon when placing an order.
6. Current change rate:
   • Under all speeds and loads, the current change rate (di/dt) of this series of motors is allowed to reach 200 times the rated current per second.
7. Noise and vibration:
   • The noise of the Z series motors complies with the provisions of GB/T10069 "Methods for the Determination of Noise and Limits for Rotating Electrical Machines" and IEC34-9 "Noise Limits for Electric Machines".
   • The vibration of the Z series motors complies with the provisions of GB/T10068 "Methods for the Determination of Vibration and Limits for Rotating Electrical Machines" and IEC34-14 "Methods for the Determination of Vibration and Limits for Electric Machines".

Accessories and Spare Parts of Xi'an Simo Z Series DC Motors

1. Accessories
   This series of Simo motors can be equipped with a speed measurement and protection system composed of a tachogenerator (ZYS or ZCF type), a centrifugal switch, and a photoelectric pulse sensor or photoelectric encoder (SZGB type or TPD-J type), etc. Users should state it in the contract when placing an order according to their needs. This series of Simo motors can also be equipped with other models and types of speed measurement and protection devices provided by users, but it needs to be negotiated when placing an order, and the user should provide the external installation dimension drawings of the equipped speed measurement and protection devices in advance.
   Temperature measurement or temperature-limiting protection elements can be installed in the stator windings and bearings of this series of Simo motors, and the terminal wires should be connected to the terminal box of the motor. Users should negotiate and state it when placing an order according to their needs.
   Heaters can be installed inside the motors according to the needs of users, and it also needs to be negotiated and stated in the contract when placing an order.
2. Spare Parts
   According to the needs of users and stated in the order contract, each motor can provide the following spare parts: one set of carbon brushes and one set of brush holders and brush rods.

1. Seriously implement relevant national standards, and strictly manufacture and inspect the products according to the standards or contract technical requirements. Unqualified products will not leave the factory.
2. After the final assembly and on-line commissioning of various finished products such as product measurement bases, the assembly personnel conduct a 72-hour running test before delivery. Strictly conduct running-in tests and reliability tests according to relevant standards to improve the reliability of new products and eliminate early failures.
3. Under normal sales conditions, the above-mentioned finished products are delivered strictly on schedule.
